About The Artist

I create paintings for people who crave a sense of calm, grounding, and quiet assurance in their everyday lives. My work reflects the restoring presence of the natural world- not as escape, but as a way to come back to yourself. These paintings are meant to offer stillness, warmth and a feeling of ease for people who want their surroundings to feel like a welcome refuge.

 I'm especially drawn to paint slightly abstracted landscapes of the southeast and Florida where I grew up before cell phones and theme parks. In my art, you'll find a touch of the "real Florida," mossy trees, peaceful lakes, marshy waterways and hiking trails. You'll also see sunny beaches and fresh florals as regular themes. 

As a child, I was entralled with coloring books and finger paints. But my creative torch was lit the day my sixth grade teacher praised a palm tree painting I made in her class. For months after, all I wanted to do was paint palm trees! I took art classes in college and, later, studied with several noted painters while raising three sons, writing books and serving as Creative Director at my church.

My work has been shown in traditional as well as online galleries and in-person art shows, and displayed in retail shops. But I'm happiest knowing my work is hung in the homes of collectors throughout the US.

Because I love decorating my own home, interior design has always been a passion and I'm happy to create personalized, commissioned art for designers looking for that extra special piece for their clients.  

My husband, David, and I live west of Orlando in Winter Garden, Fl, with the kind of downtown perfect for a Hallmark movie. We spend free days hiking and boating. We're really into football and fire pit nights with our family. We also love trips to the mountains. And, as first time dog owners, we're adapting to life with our lively golden doodle, Dallas.
