About The Artist

I create art for people who want their surroundings to feel like a welcome refuge, for those who enjoy the sights and sounds of the natural world for the nourishing, replenishing gifts they bring to our hectic, over scheduled lives.

 I'm especially drawn to the lush landscapes of the southeast and the wilder places where I grew up before cell phones and theme parks. In my art, you'll find mossy trees, peaceful lakes, marshy waterways and meandering paths. You'll also see beaches and florals as regular themes. Water and sky are almost always somewhere in my collections.

As a child, coloring books and finger paints captivated me. But my creative torch was lit the day my sixth grade teacher praised a simple palm tree painting I made in her class. She had no idea how much her comment meant to me. For months after, all I wanted to do was paint palm trees! 

Throughout my early years I experimented with all things creative: ceramics, dressmaking, basket weaving, lettering, floral design, whatever seemed like fun. I took art classes in college and, later, studied with several noted painters while raising our three sons, writing inspirational books and serving as Creative Director at my church.

Today, my work is shown in traditional as well as online galleries, in-person art shows, and displayed in retail shops. But I'm happiest knowing my art is hung in the homes of collectors throughout the US.

Because I love decorating my own home, interior design has always been a passion and I'm happy to create personalized, commissioned art for interior designers looking for that one -of -a- kind anchor piece for their clients.  

My husband, David, and I live west of Orlando in Winter Garden, Fl. It has that kind of quaint downtown you'd see in a Hallmark movie. David and I spend our free days biking, hiking, kayaking and boating. We're really into football and fire pit nights with our family. We also love trips to the mountains. And, as first-time dog owners, we're adapting to life with our lively golden doodle, Dallas.
