There’s a quiet lakeside park where time always seemed to stretch just a little slower. Sometimes on our days off my husband and I would to slip away, with our books and magazines to a shady spot here and read all afternoon. No hurry, no noise — just soft breezes, birdsong, pink azalea bushes and the occasional boat drifting by.
